Frequently asked questions

First, open iOS Settings → Notifications → Game Bell and make sure notifications, sounds and banners are allowed. Then check that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing them, and that your reminder time and repeat rule are set correctly. See the troubleshooting steps below for the full checklist.
When creating a reminder, open the game picker and choose "Custom". Give your game a name and pick an icon — it'll be saved for future reminders too.
Yes. Each reminder lets you pick Default, Chime, Alert or Victory, or choose your own custom sound so different games are instantly recognisable.
Make sure you're signed in with the same account on both devices and that cloud sync is enabled. Both devices need an internet connection to exchange the latest changes. If it still doesn't sync, sign out and back in, then reopen the app.
No. Reminders use iOS's efficient local notification system, so the app doesn't need to run in the background to alert you. Impact on battery is minimal.

Troubleshooting

Notifications not firing? Try this

Ninety-nine percent of notification issues come down to iOS settings. Run through these in order.

1. Allow notifications for Game Bell

Open iOS Settings → Notifications → Game Bell and turn on Allow Notifications, plus Sounds, Badges and Banners.

2. Check Focus & Do Not Disturb

A Focus mode or Do Not Disturb can silence alerts. Either disable it during play or add Game Bell as an allowed app in that Focus.

3. Confirm the time & repeat

Open the reminder and double-check the date, time and repeat rule. A reminder set in the past won't fire until its next scheduled occurrence.

4. Keep the app installed & updated

Deleting the app cancels its scheduled notifications. Make sure Game Bell is installed and running the latest version from the App Store.

5. For sync issues, verify your account

Sign in with the same account on each device, enable cloud sync, and ensure both devices are online. Then reopen the app to pull the latest changes.
